Local printing (devices and printers)

To print on a thermal printer located in the shop or restaurant, a small programme is installed on a workstation on site: the agent. This screen registers the agents and their printers and manages the job queue: kitchen orders, till receipts and opening the till.

What it is for

The application runs in the cloud and your printers are on your network: the server cannot reach them, nor can the browser. The agent resolves this without opening any incoming access to your network: it fetches the documents and sends them to the printer. The server, for its part, formats the document — the layout is the same across the entire fleet. Without the agent, nothing is lost: tickets are printed via the browser window and kitchen orders remain on the screen.
