Customer invoices (and credit notes)

An invoice is the official sales document recording a customer transaction. It lists the items/services, calculates the net amount excluding VAT and the VAT, displays the total amount payable including VAT, and allows for the recording of instalment payments. It can be issued as an electronic invoice (Factur-X), archived in SharePoint, and — if the module is enabled — financed via a cash advance (Defacto) without having to wait for payment from the customer.

What it is for

An invoice is the official sales document that records a transaction with a customer. It lists the goods delivered or services provided, calculates VAT totals, and sets out the payment terms. In ForXell, you can create invoices manually or automatically generate them from existing orders or delivery notes. You can record payments as they come in (or in batches), track outstanding amounts and issue credit notes (negative invoices) for returns. Once issued, the invoice can also be sent electronically to an Approved Platform (2026–2027 invoicing reform), automatically archived in SharePoint, and — for companies that have activated the Financing module (Defacto) — used to request a cash advance: you are paid immediately by the financing organisation, which then collects the payment from the customer when it falls due.
