EatXell — Service station (dining area)
The service terminal is the server’s screen, displayed in full-screen mode on a tablet: floor plan, opening a bill for a table, taking orders from the current menu, sending orders to the kitchen, transferring, merging, splitting the bill and taking payment via various methods. It opens in a new tab, separate from the management windows.
What it is for
During service, the waiter needs a touchscreen that is easy to read whilst standing, where everything can be done with a single gesture: seeing which tables are free and which are occupied, opening a bill, adding dishes, sending the order to the kitchen, and then taking payment. The bill is a draft: you can add items, cancel them with a reason, offer a complimentary dish, or change tables. Nothing is considered a tax-related transaction until payment is taken. Upon payment, the till takes over: an invoice, a signed receipt, and the receipt is provided (printed, via email, as a QR code or not at all) just as it would be at the counter.
